“Nature is our greatest asset. It
becomes an asset class when
someone does the work.”
— Rob Evans

Understanding environmental solutions as business drivers –
aligned economics are essential to any truly sustainable solution.

Corporates today face a structural shift where environmental performance directly impacts access to capital, regulatory compliance, and long-term competitiveness. Carbon regulation, ESG disclosure requirements, and investor expectations are no longer theoretical, they are actively shaping how capital is deployed and how assets are valued.

At the same time, natural capital is emerging as a new asset class. However, many organizations struggle to translate environmental potential into structured, investable opportunities. Sustainability efforts often remain fragmented - disconnected from capital strategy, project execution, and monetization pathways. A coherent approach is required - one that integrates environmental expertise, project development, and capital structuring from the outset.

Eliot & Luther bridges this gap by designing and executing end-to-end solutions, from environmental assessment and project development to fund structuring, capital raising, and long-term operations. This enables clients to transform natural assets into investable platforms aligned with both ecological integrity and financial return.

Our Services

Case Study
  • The South Barito Kapuas (“SBK”) Project (VCS4782) is a 40,000Ha peatland restoration project located in Central Kalimantan, Indonesia, focused on the protection and preservation of tropical lowland peat swamp forest.
  • The project represents one of the highest carbon-storing yet highly threatened ecosystems, exposed to risks of logging and peatland drainage.
  • The client required a fully integrated solution to establish an investment structure, secure funding, and develop the project through to issuance of verifiable carbon credits.
  • This included navigating regulatory approvals, fund structuring, project development, and alignment with international validation.
E&L Value Add
  • E&L acted as a turn-key partner, structuring and implementing the full ecosystem across fund, project, and operational execution.
  • We established the investment structure, including a Singapore-regulated fund manager, an umbrella fund (VCC), and a dedicated sub-fund to channel investor capital into the project.
  • E&L led capital raising efforts, investor onboarding, and ensured full regulatory and compliance alignment with MAS and ACRA frameworks.
  • In parallel, we managed project development, including coordination with validation and verification bodies, certification pathways, and day-to-day operational execution.
Outcome
  • The SBK Project was successfully structured into an investable platform, integrating fund architecture, project development, and carbon credit generation.
  • Validated in February 2025, the project completed Verra verification in March 2026, with high-integrity carbon credit issuance expected imminently.
  • E&L continues to support ongoing operations, stakeholder coordination, and long-term project execution.
  • The project achieved a BeZero Carbon ex-ante rating of A.pre (Very Low execution risk), reinforcing its credibility and attractiveness to institutional investors.
